It’s winter so that means hats, hats, and more hats! I love wearing protective styles and hats in the cold season. But, sometimes I want to hint that I’m not completely bald under there. How do I do that and stay warm? Beanies and bangs. Read on to see how.
Twists
It’s easy when I’m in twists. I just arrange some bangs, swoop them, throw on a beanie and I’m off.
Cornrows
It takes a little planning with the placement of cornrows. I would want two rows at the front, so that means a middle part for my cornrow style or a radial pattern. When I want some pizzazz, I just pin up the ends, and unravel the two rows in front for fluffy braidout bangs.
Bun
Same principle as above. Part two sections in front and install large flat twists–twisting forward not backward. That way, if I choose to I unravel them, they fall in a lovely cascade of twistout bangs. But, my preference is to show off the twists as is.
Double Halo
I install two smaller flat twists or braids in front, stopping before my ears. Then I install the larger halo just behind those and going all the way to the back. When I’m ready to unleash the bangs, I loose the smaller braids.
The great thing about all of these styles is that I don’t have to undo all my hair. They are just as quick and easy to put away at the end of the day and go about the rest of the week in full protective mode.

I do love my hair in a beanie. And not even as a protective style. Preferably not in twists or conrows like you suggested, the whole Afro tucked into it and made to stay steady. Maybe little twists as bangs haha

Hi. I do them and as people see them, they book it. When i do the occasional fleamarket R65 is too much to pay. People sometimes do not appreciate the work involved. I rather now support orphanages and the Nelson Mandela events.
